What is a gamma knife? To be honest, I haven’t heard about gamma knife until today. Gamma knife is actually a neurosurgical devise that is used to treat brain tumour, simply by using radiation. It was invented by a Swedish neurosurgeon called Lars Leksell back in 1967 in Sweden. Basically, it works by aiming gamma radiation through a target point in the patient’s brain where the tumour is located.
This brain tumor treatment has been used to treat over half a million people, with treatments published in more than 2000 peer-reviewed clinical papers. This includes one that tracks patient over a period of 15 years. If you want to find out more about brain tumour treatment using Gamma knife, do visit braintumortreatment.org as they have a variety of information for doctors and patients.
