I think it is no longer surprising to hear about teens getting addicted to alcohol or drug abuse. We have heard enough stories about such addiction. Even teen celebrities like Lindsay Lohan got into such a problem. So what is the best way to solve this problem? They said prevention is better than cure but let’s be realistic – almost everyone drink alcohol these days. Drugs, well I’m not so sure but I do heard a lot of people taking drugs due to work stress.
Nevertheless, an addiction is always a problem regardless of what type of addiction is is. Those in the States are lucky enough to have many rehab facilities available for people with such problems. For example, there’s a drug rehab provider called Teensavers.com and the Chapman Academy for Teens located in Southern California. They address such adolescent substance abuse problems through understanding and professional expertise. One of the methods they used is called teen intervention, originally created by Vernon Johnson. This original idea of this method is to create a “controlled crisis” for addicts who are reluctant to enter the treatment program. The success rate for a reluctant teen with drug addiction to enter drug treatment program using this method is 96%, provided it’s done by a trained professional. That is an impressive success rate! Let’s hope more people will get to know that this kind of treatment is available, so that more teens with drug problems can undergo drug treatment as soon as possible to help them – before it’s too late.
Yet another funny advertisement from our Thai friends. This time, it’s a commercial for a Thai Tomyam Noodle. I simply love this kind of advertisment; so much that I would buy their noodles so that they can make more of such advertisment in the future! LoL! By the way, the video is not English-subbed so the translation below might come in helpful:
“hey, what are you eating?”
“Quik tom yum goong flavour”
“Let me try some”
“Jane (i think she said that), Jane. Shrimp allergy… doctor”
*phone* I think she’s allergic to prawns!
What happened after that?

I’m a big fan of technology and I love tech gadgets. Now, technology has been advancing so fast that I can barely catch up with the development of new high tech products, such as the high definition Video Conferencing System by LifeSize. I’m sure most of you know what video conferencing is, but this is the most advanced version of video conferencing, ie at high definition. The company name, LifeSize really fits in well with the product, I have to say.
With LifeSize Video Conferencing system, companies can reduce their money spent on travel cost, as they can now organize meetings with their overseas counterparts simply by using video conferencing. Besides that, this sytem can also be used for distance education programs, such as the ones offered by Open University, where you earn your degree at home. I can see a great future lying ahead of this technology, kudos to LifeSize for their innovation!
I really have to salute the Thais for these advertisements. They are so freaking funny! The sound effects, the acting and everything are so cool! Just look at their facial expressions…LoL! Now, if you don’t mind, I’m going to have a bottle of Cheers beer. Cheers!

Hmm…this is one weird advertisement video. I still have no idea what a cigar got to do with driving a Ferrari? Anyone has any idea? But this video is funny nonetheless. I just hope those people in Ferrari are not offended in any way and decide to sue the cigar makers instead. Or are they related in some way? I have no idea….let’s just enjoy this funny video!
